The origin of the Buddhist Mala bracelet

The first Buddhist Mala bracelets originated in India. They are used by practitioners of Buddhism and Hinduism during religious rituals and during meditation. We do not know the exact date of the first use of this jewel, but we know that it dates back more than 3000 years. It is therefore a historical jewel which has survived the centuries, which is still considered today as a very important spiritual object.

Do you know why it is made of 108 pearls? In fact, there are several explanations. The 108 beads of the Buddhist Mala bracelet are used to count meditation cycles. When a Buddhist monk has finished his cycle, he moves on to the next bead. When the bracelet is done, the session is over.

But the 108 pearls can also represent the 108 positions of yoga or the 108 names of Buddha. It is therefore a jewel full of meaning.
